Tonight, Drake released his surprise ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ mixtape which was led by the singles “Toosie Slide,” “When To Say When,” and “Chicago Freestyle” featuring Giveon. Other fan favorites on this new mixtape are “Pain 1993” featuring Playboi Carti and “D4L” featuring Future & Young Thug.

Drake’s Toosie Slide dance single has been a viral social media sensation and has been extremely popular on the TikTok app as well. It was released earlier this month and ended up debuting at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. It’s momentum continues to build as it went platinum shortly before Dark Lane Demo Tape’s release, according to Chart Data. This is after selling 1 million units.

Drake has had plenty of success to start 2020, he appeared on Future’s “Life Is Good” single which has gone on to become certified 3x platinum. He went on to release Chicago Freestyle, When To Say When, and Toosie Slide. In his announcement regarding Dark Lane Demo Tapes on Friday night, he also revealed that his sixth studio album would be released this summer. His hometown of Toronto also continues to impress this year as we’ve seen dominance from himself, The Weeknd, and Tory Lanez. The Weeknd released his fourth studio album ‘After Hours‘ which became the No. 1 album in the country in March and Lanez released his ‘The New Toronto 3‘ mixtape last month which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

At this point, it’s about to be another dominant year for Drake as he continues to prove why he’s one of the greatest artists of all-time.
