R. Kelly recently plead not guilty to 11 additional counts of sexual abuse with a minor from 2010. In February, he faced 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse involving four minors as well. He’s been dealing with serious child support payment issues with his ex-wife Drea Kelly during this timeframe as well.
Kelly was locked up in March for not paying $161,000 in late child support payments and now, $32,000 is due. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Drea is looking for a judge to set a deadline for R. Kelly to pay this amount because he’s been taking his time of deciding when to pay it.
The court never originally set a date for R. Kelly to make the $32k payment. He’s been required to pay $20,833 per month in child support for a decade now. Drea now wants interest on these child support payments. Kelly’s crisis manager, Darrell Johnson, is saying that they will respond “accordingly” to the unpaid $32,000. It might just take another trip to jail for R. Kelly to finally cough it all up.
