Dwyane Wade addresses the 2006 #NBAFinals and the controversial calls on the 10th anniversary of the Heat’s first title

Dwyanewade2006vidIn the mid-2000s, the Miami Heat were definitely one of the better teams in the NBA. However, few people felt they would ever win a championship. Led by a young Dwyane Wade, he had his hands full with veteran teammates who never won before.

Many felt the Miami Heat were a poor man’s version of the Lakers’ early 2000s squads, led by Shaq and Kobe. In 2006, the Miami Heat completed a disappointing season, drastically regressing. But, when the playoffs came, they turned it up a gear and made history.

Their 0-2 comeback against Dallas was the biggest Finals comeback in league history, until last night. Today marks ten years since the Miami Heat stunned a much-better Dallas Mavericks squad in Game 6 on their home court. Given the controversy surrounding the Cavs’ championship, Dwyane Wade addressed this all in his Instagram post celebrating that decade.
