Bay Area legends E-40 and Too $hort are ready to take the stage tonight for their Verzuz battle. The two are definitely looking to put on a show as this battle will be giving fans the full concert experience and the setup and finances that went into planning this definitely shows.
According to TMZ, 40 and $hort will perform on a stage in Northern California as the budget spent on this was close to $500,000. “Concert-style lighting” is being implemented as well as two old school cars that reflect the Bay Area’s hip-hop culture.The original venue that was the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Campus but that was scrapped due to COVID-19 concerns.
This Verzuz may very well be one of the most underrated ones that hip-hop fans will be treated to in 2020. This is the first west coast matchup as both 40 and $hort were excited about this in a recent TMZ Live appearance but definitely made it known that the competitiveness will be there. It all goes down at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Instagram and Apple Music.
