Earn Marks gains sympathy from fans who can relate to being a struggling, creative, student #AtlantaFX

A major reason why “Atlanta” is winning for FX with the hip hop audience is because it is relative. Most kids growing up in urban communities know people like the show portrays. Many people fall into the category of Earn Marks (Childish Gambino), a “creative” kid.

Earn is a broke college student with a sluggish work ethic, dreams of being rich, a girlfriend, and a kid. He is doing whatever it takes to stretch his dollars. The way out that Earn sees is with Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), his rapping cousin.

Hanging out with Paper Boi landed Earn in jail, where he remains, as Vanessa (Zazie Beetz) would not bail him out. While in there, he is going through all kinds of weirdness. But, what Earn is going through, many people are flooding to Twitter, both male and female, to say they also relate to this.
