Ebro Darden joins Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, will keep position at Hot 97

In 2013, Ebro Darden decided to step in front of the mic and become a radio jockey, in addition to program director at Hot 97. This was a move many questioned, but it worked. Last year, Ebro stepped down as program director, but he is highly successful with the radio show.

The fans have really taken to the trio of Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and the lovely Laura Stylez. There have been questions about why Ebro made the move he did, but it has paid off. This afternoon, it paid off even bigger than many imagined.

Today marked the launch of Apple Music, the official competitor of Jay Z’s streaming service, TIDAL. Apple brought in many figures from the music industry, with Ebro being one of them. He will be hosting Beats 1 Radio, while still keeping his position at Hot 97 and he said both sides see the benefits of him keeping both positions.
