Eight shot at strip club in Decatur, two suspects among injured
Early Sunday morning, a shooting at Pin Ups strip club in the Scottdale area of Decatur, Georgia, left eight people injured. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. at 2788 East Ponce de Leon Avenue. Video footage shared on social media shows two women on the ground near the club’s exit. In addition, a heavy police presence at the scene.
DeKalb County police confirmed that three individuals were found at the club with gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital. An additional five people were found at various hospitals, having been transported by third parties. Police believe two of the hospitalized individuals are suspects in the shooting and will be taken to the DeKalb County Jail upon their release.
The circumstances leading to the shooting are still unclear, and none of the victims have been named. The original trio found at the club are reportedly in stable condition.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as gunfire erupted, sending patrons and employees scrambling for cover.
“It was like a war zone,” one witness said. “People were running everywhere, trying to find safety.”
The club, which is located in a busy commercial area, was still open at the time of the shooting. Also, several patrons were present inside.
The investigation is ongoing. As a result, DeKalb County police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from the club and nearby businesses to piece together what happened. Also, they are conducting interviews with witnesses and victims to gather more details about the incident.
