Eminem sells 779,000 copies in his first week with “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”

The Marshall Mathers LP 2Anytime Eminem is preparing for a new album, it’s the biggest hip hop album of the year. This is the first time in hip hop history that the game has gotten new, full-length albums from Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Eminem in the same year. When everybody was listening to Jay-Z, Eminem announced The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

It’s been three months and Eminem has taken over the game with the promotion of this new album. He has several singles off the album all in the top twenty on Billboard and Eminem even brought his act to the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. All in all, the game has been very receptive to Eminem’s return.

There have been several projections about Eminem’s first week with The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Initial projections had the album set to move 300,000 copies, later ones had it at 1.1 million copies sold, and earlier today, it was above 500,000 copies. Now, the official first week album sales are in and Eminem has sold 779,577 copies in its first week.
