Whether or not hip hop is in another golden era remains to be seen, but the game has new albums from Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Bun B, and other veterans all in one year. Not to mention other older names, such as Ja Rule, Lil’ Kim, and DMX are also back in the game. The 1990s and early 2000s have blended well with the current era.
In the case of Eminem, he returned to the game at the end of the summer. He delivered his new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, early this month. Eminem has four singles off the album and they all made the top twenty on the Billboard album charts. This was a big moment for music, the first time in fifty years this happened.
