Hip hop has received, arguably, it’s biggest look ever in the form of FOX soap opera, “Empire.” Created by Lee Daniels, the show stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. The show is obviously based on many successful soap operas from the past.

“Empire,” unlike many other shows to debut with all-star casts and big ratings, managed to hold on to their audience. Over the course of twelve airings, “Empire” drew in at least 20,000 viewers. After the first episode, the show was brought back for a second season.

However, this week, there were many fans who believed “Empire” would be cancelled after its first season. After all, it did happen to Arsenio Hall, but the “Empire” story was nothing more than a hoax. News has officially broken and “Empire” will return for a second season, as planned.
