Throughout the history of “Empire,” celebrity cameos have been a staple of the show. But, after the Alicia Keys arc as Skye Summers, series creator, Lee Daniels, said they would tone down on the celebrity appearances. He said only the appearances that fit would make it.
During the summer, many saw photos of Terrence Howard with Birdman and French Montana on Instagram. The two made their “Empire” cameo during the season premiere. Last season, Lucious (Howard) acquired a streaming service, SwiftStream.
With the acquisition complete, Lucious is looking to add the music catalogs of Birdman and French Montana. In real life, however, Birdman just joined Apple Music and French is doing stuff with both streamers. On Twitter, in real life, fans are wondering why Birdman and French Montana are even on “Empire,” in the first place.
