The most successful show on all of television is “Empire,” created by popular filmmaker, Lee Daniels. With the success of “Empire,” the power of hip hop is shown. Casting Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson drew people in, but the storyline kept them.
Last week, “Empire” returned for season two and had tremendous success. The show debuted strong with 16.2 million people tuning into the premiere. Cameos came from Al Sharpton, Swizz Beatz, Chris Rock, and many others.
However, not everyone was able to catch “Empire” on Wednesday night, so they had to catch it online. Through FOX Now and Hulu, an additional 6.3 million people tuned into the “Empire” season premiere. This brings the total premiere numbers up to 22.5 million viewers.
