Last night, “Empire” went through a major plot twist, as Lucious (Terrence Howard) extended an olive branch to Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray). Declaring Hakeem a “man he respects,” Lucious helped him and Laura (Jamila Velazquez) reconcile. His son is expecting.

In actuality, Lucious – who was reinstated as Empire CEO, is working everyone, as usual. It was working with Andre (Trai Byers), until Harper (Annie Ilonzeh) revealed Leah Walker (Leslie Uggams) was alive. This set up an epic preview for next week’s episode.

“Empire” has managed to remain number one in television, but the ratings did finally come down. Once again, “Empire” owned the night, as fans fell for Jamal (Jussie Smollett), all over again, as he did the “Good Enough” remix. Now, “Empire” sees its ratings boost to 9.8 million, their first increase in three weeks.
