Erica Banks Says She Turned Down Record Deal With DaBaby’s Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment After Discussing Options With Her Mother [VIDEO]

Erica Banks turned into a star in 2020 with the success of her breakout hit single, “Buss It.” That soon started the “Buss It Challenge” by woman where they start make videos in casual wear then soon pop up in thirst-trapping attire while twerking.

The Dallas rapper recently appeared in an interview with Clinton Sparks and revealed the record label deals she had on the table. She’s currently with the Houston-bases 150 Certified Entertainment as well as Warner Records. Others who offered her were Atlantic Records, Capitol, and more. Banks also added that DaBaby’s Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment was one of them but she turned them down.

Banks almost signed with BDB but ultimately, her mother played a role in her deciding not to take the offer. Her mother emphasized that she had to take her time and weigh all of her options.

“I had already turned everybody down,” explained Banks in regards to DaBaby sending her an offer. “I personally did not sign with DaBaby because I was very excited, it was my second offer, I was like, ‘hell yeah’. I was about to get all the planning done. But then I called my mom, like, ‘this is what I’m about to do, I’m about to go sign with DaBaby.’ She’s like, ‘oh no, we need to slow down. This is only the second offer. We’re not gonna just jump on whatever.'”

In the end, Banks made the decision that’s best for her and is winning big. Buss It is almost gold in the US and currently stands at No. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
