Snootie Wild shot and killed in Houston
Back in 2014, Memphis rapper Snootie Wild, became one of the biggest buzzing rappers of that year. At the time, his breakout hit was “Yayo,” ft. Yo Gotti. Gotti signed Wild to his CMG record label in 2014, as well.
Yayo ended up peaking at number seven, on the Billboard US Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles. The record went on to be certified gold in the US, and appeared on Wild’s debut EP, “Go Mode.” Go Mode featured six tracks, with appearances from K Camp, Starlito, Zed Zilla, and August Alsina.
Now, reports are unfortunately surfacing, that Snootie Wild has been shot and killed. Wild’s Instagram account confirmed his death, with the caption “Gone in body, but your NAME & LEGACY will live forever! 💙 #TeamYayo4Life💯” Wild was 36, at the time of his death.
Wild is said to have been killed last night, in Houston. ABC 13 reports that a man, said to be Wild, was found near a SUV in a ditch near English Street and Alice Street. Gunshot wounds were also found, in his neck. Wild was then transported to a local hospital, in critical condition. He went on to succumb to his injuries.
“It looks like he backed in there (the ditch) accidentally,” said Officer R. Willkens, in a press conference. “Then the other vehicle pulled up, and folks got out of the car. They were talking for a little bit, and then all of a sudden, gunfire went off. Only one shot, actually.”
