Fabolous finally addresses Kendrick Lamar at Powerhouse 2013, saying “all the kings come from Brooklyn” [VIDEO]
When it comes to potential, Fabolous was viewed by some as an artist who could potentially fill the shoes of Jay-Z. The emergence of Fabolous came during the time of the “retirement” of Jay-Z and Fab was DJ Clue’s artist. Fabolous now finds himself older than Jay-Z was during his retirement and he has still yet to cement his position.
Over the past few years, Fabolous has returned several times and done interviews about “bringing New York back.” As early as this year, Fabolous spoke on this in relation to French Montana and A$AP Rocky. But, it was Kendrick Lamar who claimed the title of king of New York.
Kendrick Lamar showed up big in Brooklyn for Power 105.1’s Powerhouse 2013. At the time the “Control” record came out, many wondered if Fabolous would respond. When he didn’t respond, many wondered why, but Fabolous got his in last night when he made it clear Brooklyn was home of the kings.
