The 1990s was a much different time in hip hop, a time when the LA rappers finally took the game over. NWA ended, Dr. Dre helped to found Death Row Records and the G-funk era was in full effect. A highly controversial era, it did give birth to Snoop Dogg.

With today being the twentieth anniversary since Tupac died, Nat Geo is cashing in on the moment. They premiered their documentary on Suge Knight. The program is called “Facing: Suge Knight” and it recounts his time atop of the game as Death Row’s CEO.

Currently, the first half of the show has aired and it showed Suge Knight in the years before signing Tupac. For older hip hop fans, this brings up a lot of memories. People are all over Twitter reflecting on the old days of Suge Knight and the impact he had on the game.
