Over the weekend, Coi Leray had a concert in Houston, which didn’t seem to go well from a fan’s perspective. As Coi was performing, there wasn’t much cheering or reactions in general. This seemed to affect Coi mentally as she took to Twitter to voice how sad she was feeling. Nicki Minaj soon replied to Coi and motivated her, while also explaining that fans are getting to know her music more.
One fan who was in attendance is now speaking up about what happened. She explained how fans expected Coi’s hit singles such as “No More Parties” and “Big Purr” to be performed first, but her other songs were used first. Many in attendance didn’t know these records and it resulted in them simply just watching the show.
“Basically, I was just confused. It was really bad timing too, ’cause when she came out on stage, everybody was like real hype, but I guess she started performing her newer songs first and everybody was really like, looking for ‘Big Purr’ and ‘No More Parties,’ so that’s what happened right there. Nobody knew the songs.”
When those two singles were finally performed, “she was good, we got right,” according to the fan. Another TikTok user added that when these two songs came on, “I didn’t say it was a rager or nothin’, nothin’ like that man. I just said it was better than the mannequin challenge.”
Nonetheless, Coi has been one of the biggest breakout stars of 2021 and is nominated for two BET Awards this month. No More Parties also hit platinum status.
