Often, a lot is said about female emcees, but the conversation should have Lil’ Kim somewhere in the mix. While she wasn’t the first female emcee, she is the most notable one. As noted tonight, she was meant to be the cute girl in the crew, not the breakout star.
Lil’ Kim changed the game and she inspired a generation. Because of this, fans lobbied hard for Lil’ Kim on Twitter to be included in VH1’s latest “Hip Hop Honors” special. They got their wish and Lil’ Kim received an amazing ovation and got a strong reaction from fans.
What came as a surprise to many was who introduced her, Faith Evans, her longtime foe. But, many have overlooked the fact that the two ended their beef back in 2014. Since then, the two have been cool, but Twitter still commended Faith Evans for the kind words she had for Lil’ Kim.
