Fans praise TV One for casting on Chaka Khan character on #MikiHowardStory for excellent portrayal #LoveUnderNewManagement

Major props to TV One for taking what they have been doing for years and expanding it. Back in 2008, TV One focused more on original programming and premiered “Unsung” to the masses. The music-based docuseries has lasted eight years.

TV One delivered their first-ever “Unsung” feature film last night with the Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story. As the title suggests, it is a Miki Howard biopic. In fact, Darius McCrary spoke to Hip Hop Vibe about his role as Gerald Levert in the film.

What blew people away was Chaka Khan’s character in the movie. Many were surprised the film showed her doing drugs the way that it did, but that’s honesty. Fans flooded to Twitter to praise TV One for their casting, but they did get Indira Khan, Chaka’s daughter, for the role.
