There are times when people forget who Fat Joe is and, for years, critics tried to deprive him of his legendary status. A lot of this came because he embraced the South’s sound. It is tough to count out the man who gave “Lean Back.”

Fat Joe began his career, making number ones, and he was a very lyrical rapper. When the game shifted to Mafioso, he was right there. Then, the Ja Rule and Lil Wayne eras saw Joe reaping those benefits, topping Billboard with them.

By 2016, Fat Joe was considered a relic of the past, last hitting Billboard’s top forty, in 2008. Much had changed and “I Won’t Tell” was a forgettable hit, but then he came with “All The Way Up,” reviving Remy Ma’s career, in the process. That’s going on five years ago and Fat Joe kicked off 2021, dropping “Sunshine (The Light),” and the cameo-heavy video, with appearances from Tony Sunshine, DJ Khaled, and Diddy, and this video has done 6 million views since its premiere.
