In 2001, Fat Joe would pull of a tremendous comeback and enjoy a near-decade run. From 2001 through 2008, Fat Joe scored hits in “We Thuggin,” “What’s Luv?,” “Lean Back,” “Get It Poppin,” and “Make it Rain.” Features were with R. Kelly, Ashanti, Remy Ma, Nelly, and Tune.
For a while, Fat Joe was having his best success alongside Tune, better known as Lil Wayne. Long before this, and even his work with Ja Rule, Fat Joe and Big Pun were the dynamic duo. The two worked closely until, exactly seventeen years ago, today.
Fat Joe stopped by “Sway In The Morning” and spoke with Sway on his Shade 45 show. He would discuss his relationship with Big Pun, detailing how the two first met, and discussing his legacy. Joe would also share with Sway his favorite Big Pun verse.
