Not too long ago, many felt as if Fat Joe’s run was over. Consistently, for over a decade, Fat Joe managed to deliver a new hit single. Fat Joe’s legendary status helped him remain relevant, if not become more popular, when he began exchanging disses with 50 Cent. Fat Joe teamed up with Ja Rule in 2004, which led to 50 Cent going after the Bronx legend.
Close to a decade passed since the first shot was fired and Fat Joe all but disappeared in recent years. Following the 2008 release of The Elephant in the Room, Fat Joe’s popularity waned. But, the 2011 release of his Chris Brown-assisted single, “Another Round,” has led to a resurgence for Fat Joe. Recently, he leaked his latest single, produced by Kanye West, “Pride N Joy.”
MTV News recently caught up with Fat Joe and they discussed the new single, which features a plethora of big names. Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Miguel, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, Yasiin Bey, and Kanye West all contribute to the song.
