Fat Joe talks “So Excited” single and classic stories about Big Pun and others with DJ Kay Slay [VIDEO]

After Jay-Z retired, the question was raised, as who would take over as the king of rap. Many people passed this off to Lil Wayne, as he did run with it. But, Fat Joe never said anything. Instead, he just dropped “Lean Back” the following summer.

Fat Joe returned in 2005 with “Get It Poppin,” featuring Nelly. The following year, Fat Joe delivered “Make It Rain.” That song won him his first Grammy and helped Lil Wayne take over the game. After that, his run kept going, as he dropped “I Won’t Tell.”

It’d be another eight years before “All The Way Up,” but Fat Joe returned like he was never gone, alongside Remy Ma. Now, he is promising “So Excited” will be an even bigger single. He stopped by Shade 45 to talk with DJ Kay Slay and Ashlee Ray about his new single and Big Pun stories.
