This past week, on June 18, the biggest day in hip hop of the year took place. The albums everyone was looking for, Kanye West’s Yeezus, J. Cole’s Born Sinner, Mac Miller’s Watching Movies with the Sound Off, and Statik Selektah’s Extended Play were all released on June 18.
There were many other albums that were released this past week, but these were the main four released. Kanye West and J. Cole, naturally, grabbed the biggest headlines with their albums. Meanwhile, Mac Miller and Statik Selektah played the background role with their releases.
Projections for the albums that have been released have already come out. These projections were not accurate, however. Now, updated projections have been released and it has Kanye West moving 360-385,000 in his first week, J. Cole moving 280-305,000 in his first week, Mac Miller moving 95-105,000 in his first week, and Kelly Rowland moving 60-65,000 copies in his first week.
