Without Sugar Hill Records and the Sugar Hill Gang, there would be no hip hop as the masses know it. Something has been missing from the game since Sylvia Robinson passed, back in 2010. Taking notice of that should bring about no surprise with how many complaints now arise.

However, as of 2017, Sugar Hill Records is a factor, once again. They have joined Bravo for “First Family of Hip Hop” with the perfect lead-in with “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Here, the family is seen getting it back together, with the likes of Raekwon stopping by for visits.

Leland Robinson, Lady Luck, Somaya Reece, LeA, and Darnell from the cast of “First Family of Hip Hop” all stopped by “The Breakfast Club.” Speaking with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, they spoke on the show and the Sugar Hill legacy of founding professional hip hop. The family would also address “Empire,” saying the show borrowed elements of their life.
