Flau’jae Johnson and LSU apologize for Flau’jae’s 9/11 reference in “Put It On Da Floor” freestyle
Flau’jae Johnson removes freestyle due to using 9/11 lyrics
LSU women’s basketball star Flau’jae Johnson has become a star, along with Angel Reese, over the past month, after they and their teammates won the national championship. Flau’jae is also signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation record label.
Meanwhile, Flau’jae consistently releases music, and decided to put out a freestyle to Latto’s new “Put It On Da Floor” single. However, she’s receiving a lot of backlash for certain lyrics there. This is in reference to tying in 9/11 terrorist attack lyrics, to comparing it to a 911 Porsche. Flau’jae’s lyrics were “In this 911 blowing smoke just like them towers.”
As a result, Flau’jae and LSU are both apologizing for these lyrics. Her “Put It On Da Floor” freestyle video has also been removed. LSU has since released a statement to Fox News, regarding the removal of this song.
“While she never intended to offend or upset anyone with her lyrics, she expressed sincere remorse for any possibility of a misunderstanding and immediately took the video down. We will learn and grow from this experience together.”
Flau’jae’s music career has been elevating even higher, since the national championship win. Her “Big 4” single played at the American Airlines Center, following the win, and moguls such as Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled also want to work with her.
