In early 2021, Yaya Mayweather had her first child, with NBA Youngboy. The relationship appeared to end at that point, after having a very up and down 2020. In April 2020, Yaya stabbed Youngboy’s baby mama, Lapattra Jacobs, at his Houston home.

Yaya and Youngboy seem to have gone their separate ways, but are still co-parenting. Yaya’s father, the legendary Floyd Mayweather, previously said to Hollywood Unlocked in October 202, how Yaya wasn’t under his roof anymore, so she was making her own decisions. The boxer also added that he viewed Youngboy as a child.

Youngboy dissed Floyd in an Instagram Live session in early 2020, but it seems that Floyd is all good with Yaya and the Louisiana rapper now. Floyd recently spoke with “The Pivot” podcast, and revealed that he’s actually proud of Yaya and Youngboy. He did add that Yaya was too young to have a baby, though.

“I’m proud of my daughter, even though she’s a little young to have a baby. She’s twenty-one, and she’ll be twenty-two this year, but I’m proud of her. I’m proud of NBA YoungBoy, very talented young kid. One of the biggest artists, as far as in music. He got a cult-like following.”

Last fall, Youngboy was released from prison, after agreeing to be on house arrest, in Utah. Last March, he was arrested in Los Angeles, due to gun charges from an arrest in his hometown of Baton Rouge, LA, in September 2020.
