The life of a former NFL player tragically came to an end this past week.
38-year-old Terrell Roberts was shot and killed after an argument at his grandmother’s home. Roberts was visiting family at his grandmother’s home in Richmond, CA. He got into an incident with an unidentified man in the garage of the home.The trouble followed Roberts from the garage into the residence where the unidentified man entered and shot him.
Richmond police soon came after the shooting had taken place. They found Roberts with a gunshot wound in his chest. Witness spoke with police to piece together what had happened. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According Richmond Police Sgt. Enrik Melgozak, Roberts stumbled into the backyard where first responders found him. The unidentified man fled the scene and is still on the run. Authorities described the suspect as a 20 to a 35-year-old black man, bald with a short beard, weighing approximately 250 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt.
Terrell played for the Bengals from 2003-2005. He previously played at the University of Oregon.
