Foxy Brown is willing to End Feud with Lil’ Kim

There was a short period of time when Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim were collaborators. For years, they appeared on songs by some of the same rappers. The two femcees came out around the same time with the same style. Their debut albums were released within a week of each other and both artists were known for their work with Jay-Z and Nas. It has been almost a decade and a half of feuding, but Foxy Brown wants to end things.

In the past, it has been said that the two were best friends. Early in her career, Lil’ Kim had plans of taking Foxy Brown under her wing, but when they met, Foxy was not interested in being mentored. Some say that this is what led to their feud. But, on Foxy Brown’s debut album; she leaves a shout out to Lil’ Kim. There is a song by Foxy called “Memory Lane,” where she hints at their feud initially being staged until Kim took things too far.

The actual origin of the feud has been speculated for some time. Like many other issues, no one will probably ever know the truth. Whatever the origin may be, it was clear that by 1999, the two rappers were feuding. By the New Millennium, it was clear that nothing was staged in their feud. It was clear to see that they just did not like each other. In the year of 2000, their feud reached a new height and the following year; Foxy Brown issued a peace offering to Lil’ Kim.

Despite offering a truce, Foxy Brown continued the feud with Lil’ Kim. In 2005, it had been four years of direct feuding and Lil’ Kim hit at her hard with the track, “Quiet.” The feud did not end, but after that point, things died down, drastically. Lil’ Kim’s career has suffered since 2005 and the recent albums from Foxy Brown have been flops. Now, five years since 2005, Foxy Brown leaked a record that went at both Lil’ Kim and Jay-Z.

The song confirmed years of rumors of her sleeping with Jay-Z. She apologized to both Jay and Kim. She stated that the song was not supposed to have come out. Brown said that she was willing to do what she had to do to bring about an end to their feud. With the feud now going on for nine years, publicly, and fourteen years behind the scenes, she is willing to end her long-running feud with Lil’ Kim.
