Frank Ocean reportedly suffered ankle injury before his Coachella set and needed to change up performance, which went on to be criticized by fans

Frank Ocean was reportedly injured before doing Coachella set

On Sunday night, Frank Ocean headlined the opening weekend of Coachella, as fans have been longing for an album from him, for many years now. However, Ocean’s performance wasn’t perceived positively by fans in-person, as well as on social media.

Ocean’s lighting for his performance is said to have been below average, and was very difficult to see him in general. In addition to this, the curfew in Indio, CA caused Ocean to cut his set short after arriving late, which he announced on stage. But, during the performance, he honored his late brother and teased a new album, which would be his first since 2016’s “Blonde.”

Meanwhile, according to TMZ, another factor reportedly played into Ocean not putting on a great show. He’s supposedly been dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered, while on the Coachella festival grounds. This is said to have been as a result of a bike accident.

Ocean was rehearsing this set, as many of the bikes were used, to roam the grounds. An ice ring was also initially part of the scheduled performance, but got scrapped. The hockey players that Ocean was going to use on the rink also went on to be used as background dancers instead.
