While French Montana has received plenty of hype and a load of media attention, he is not the only rapper putting in work, returning New York to its former prominence. In fact, French Montana is not the only rapper from The Bronx helping this effort. A rapper often overlooked, while making good music, is Fred the Godson. The rapper had a strong buzz during the spring of 2011, but has been overlooked, as other rappers, such as French Montana and A$AP Rocky, have built buzz.
Recently, Fred the Godson had his turn in front of the media, as he spoke with AllHipHop.com about his goals. Fred the Godson has continued to make major moves and his audience is still growing and he has no plans of slowing down. Currently, Fred the Godson is collaborating with “Love & Hip Hop” star, Olivia, on a mixtape, Beauty and the Beast. The mixtape will serve as a follow-up to Fred’s 2011 DJ Drama-hosted classic, City of God.
AllHipHop.com caught up with Fred the Godson in his native Bronx to discuss his upcoming projects and he held an interesting conversation with the long-running hip hop site.
