Friends become enemies, especially in this rap game, so it is important to really know the people who call themselves “friends.” Two years ago, Freddie Gibbs was on top of the world when Young Jeezy signed him to Corporate Thugz Entertainment. Now, the two are at each other’s throats.
Freddie Gibbs is the latest in a long line of friends of Young Jeezy, who have become his rivals. Once considering Young Jeezy his hero, Freddie Gibbs left Corporate Thugz earlier this year for his own movement. He was working on his debut album, which was never scheduled for a release date.
MTV News caught up with Freddie Gibbs and he was clearly angry with Young Jeezy during their conversation. They asked Freddie Gibbs what led to his departure from the label and he credited it to the fakeness he saw within the camp. Freddie Gibbs also spoke on the death threats he was getting on Twitter over Young Jeezy being a “fraud.”
