November 17 is the highly anticipated day in Houston where Kanye West will make an appearance at Joel Osteen’s huge Lakewood Church. He is set to make a first appearance at 11am where he will be interviewed by Osteen about his faith for about 20-30 minutes. At 7pm, West will be back as his Sunday Service choir will perform.
The 11am service is first come, first served for the first 45,000 people and for the 7pm service, 45,000 will be the capacity again as they were made available for free on Ticketmaster. They sold out in seven minutes today and sadly, they’re already being put on the resale market. According to KHOU 11, some people are selling tickets for $500 a piece.
Lakewood Church staff are now warning the public about these people putting up tickets for resale. They are non-transferable and will only be scanned once.
“Someone can resell that same ticket over and over again. Only the first scan will get in,” said a church spokesperson. “We recommend that no one pay for or buy tickets in any way. There’s a high probability they will not get in if their tickets are purchased.”
It’s sad that people are really trying to profit off of a church. The free tickets were definitely needed due to running the risk of the church running to overcapacity but putting them on resale is just wrong. $500 is just ridiculous anyway. This isn’t some concert or festival. Check out some users on social media who claim that they’re selling tickets to Lakewood below.
So this is a thing… I'm not saying this guy isn't legit (I have no way of knowing), but PLEASE be smart and make sure you're not getting scammed if you choose to buy tickets from someone. People are reselling tickets all over the internet. @KHOU #khou11 https://t.co/TUxt4qfCpx
