#FreeAkademiks is now trending on Twitter, as his girlfriend promises to “hold him down” and posts hashtag; Previously, he went on his girlfriend’s IG Live to say he was facing 5-10 years behind bars

Infamously, DJ Akademiks took over internet hip hop, a few years ago. He did so by taking advantage of what’s out there and he turned his brand into a popular Instagram page. Following this, Akademiks would gain a major hosting position.

“Everyday Struggle,” which Akademiks co-hosted with Joe Budden, was the show people loved to hate. As soon as the dynamic was threatened, with Joe Budden quitting, fans were outraged. Now, the show appears to be effectively cancelled.

This morning, DJ Akademiks was on his girlfriend’s Instagram Live, when he said he might be facing 5-10 years in prison. Since then, his girlfriend has posted the above pic, with a caption saying she’ll hold him down, along with the “#freeakademiks” hashtag. Now, that hashtag is trending on Twitter.
