Coming into 2011, New York hip hop was preparing the new leader of their hip hop scene after many rappers coming and going. In previous months, it looked as if Vado would help usher in a new era of New York hip hop. Fred the Godson’s name also was thrown around in this discussion, before French Montana took over.
A fixture, alongside the rest of the Coke Boys, on the New York hip hop scene, French Montana made a strong push late in the summer of 2011. Making a major impression on the game, French Montana released a barrage of songs and mixtapes. Among the mixtapes was a collaborative tape with Waka Flocka Flame, but no album came.
Missing his 2012 release dates, French Montana’s album has been pushed back several times in 2013. French Montana’s Excuse My French has been delayed until May 21, the birthday of original Bad Boy leader, The Notorious B.I.G. When French Montana last visited Los Angeles, he talked about his album cover and release with Power 106’s L.A. Leakers.
