Please do not get it confused, French Montana is from New York City. Until his movement, the hip hop scene in New York was virtually nonexistent. There were a few rappers who were making moves, but none of them were doing quite enough to bring the focus back to New York City.

French Montana did this and released a string of hit singles along the way. On the streets, the “Choppa Choppa Down” single was embraced, “Shot Caller” gained a bit of commercial appeal, “Pop That,” featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne put French on the map though. His run is ongoing, as “Freaks” with Nicki Minaj is doing very well.

The home away from home for French Montana, like other rich New Yorkers, is Miami. He and his team often head down there to party with Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Drake, Ace Hood, and the others. Last night, French Montana, Chinx Drugz, and company were in Miami to celebrate the release of Excuse My French, which dropped yesterday.
