French Montana talks G.O.O.D. Music vs. Young Money, 50 Cent’s mistakes, and more with Complex

Undoubtedly, French Montana has come a long way since the days of the Cocaine City DVDs. Moroccan-born, Bronx bred, French Montana was destined for greatness. In many ways, French Montana’s Coke Boys movement is comparable to 50 Cent and G-Unit, ten years ago. French Montana helped breathe new life into the legendary Bad Boy Records when he signed with them last year.

Since signing with Bad Boy Records, French Montana is putting the finishing touches on Excuse My French, his debut album. Complex recently caught up with French Montana and they have discussed a number of topics. Recently, they did the “10 Coke Boy Lessons” series, in which French Montana spoke of his personal keys to success.

French Montana recently sat down for another interview with Complex, this time he discussed some of his peers in the rap game. Asked about his no-beef stance, French Montana said it is bad for business. At one point involved in numerous beefs, French Montana says he is now peaceful. Focused on putting positive energy out, French Montana is working with all of the major names in the game.

While French Montana has avoided beef, Complex asked him about the Pusha T/Lil Wayne situation. The two are members of hip hop’s top crews, G.O.O.D. Music and Young Money. French Montana dismissed the beef, saying if it was more than hip hop, Birdman would definitely be involved. Working closely with Rick Ross and Maybach Music, French Montana discussed why 50 Cent’s career fell off. The same tactics which helped 50 Cent hurt him in the long run when feuding fell out of popularity.
