As a whole, New York has been very resurgent over the past few months. The hip hop scene has been given new life through the success of French Montana, A$AP Rocky, Busta Rhymes, Raekwon, and others. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have returned to playoff contention in the NBA and boast two all-stars in Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. However, New York’s biggest success perhaps is coming from the New York Giants, as they will compete tonight for the Super Bowl crown.

French Montana has been spending much of his time in Miami, as he is a close affiliate of Rick Ross and Maybach Music. The most-recent Miami trip for French Montana was in celebration of the 36th birthday of Rick Ross. While he was in Miami, French Montana also shot the video for his hit single, “Shot Caller (remix).” The original “Shot Caller” is still getting radio play, but the remix is being pushed because of features from Diddy and Rick Ross.

With the success of “Shot Caller (remix),” French Montana told Sway Calloway for MTV the song will serve as the unofficial anthem for the New York Giants.
