Future has had a very good 2020 for himself musically as his “Life Is Good” single feat Drake kicked things off in January and ended up being certified 4x platinum. He then released his eighth studio album, ‘High Off Life‘ in May which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and give him his seventh top album. He’s also been dealing with Instagram model, Eliza Reign, after she proved that she had his child and became his seventh baby mama but nonetheless, Future keeps racking up big wins for his career.
The Free Bandz rapper has also been using his platform to help out during the COVID-19 pandemic as his FreeWishes Foundation had a “Mask On” campaign where they partnered with local sewing company, Atlanta Sewing Style. This helped to distribute 100,000 masks to hospitals, relief centers, and more.
Future is putting even more work to help others affected by the pandemic. According to Billboard, he is starting the “I’m Still a Dreamer” Georgia COVID-19 Scholarship. This will also be done through his FreeWishes foundation which is also ran by his mother, mother Stephanie Jester and sister, Tia Wilburn-Anderson. This is to help incoming college freshman who have been affected by the pandemic.
“You don’t have to be in the perfect situation or come from the perfect background to reach for your dreams,” said Future in a statement. Despite this Covid-19 pandemic, I encourage all dreamers to continue to dream big.”
In order to apply, students must submit a video explaining how the pandemic has affected their own lives. Requirements also include a 3.0 grade point average, being a Georgia resident, and being enrolled in an accredited college for this fall. Students can receive up to $2,500 in scholarship funds.
