This week, it was revealed that Future’s 17-year-old son, Jakobi, is facing 20 years for criminal gang activity charges. The other charges include trespass and the altered ID of a firearm. The serial number of the gun was scratched off.
Future won’t let Jakobi be listed as indigent as he will be supplying him with the best lawyers he can, according to TMZ. He is being charged as an adult and the plan was listing himself as indigent so he could be provided a public defender but that changed when Future decided to have his back.
Jakobi’s mother, Jessica Smith, also has his back in this case as she says she’s trying to protect his well being in this situation and respect the family’s privacy at this time. It is very unusual though that Jakobi is set financially by Future and still wants to get caught up in the streets.
