Some criticize Snoop Dogg for “changing up,” but he can never be criticized for not working with the newer artists. Decades ago, Snoop Dogg began calling himself ‘Uncle Snoop.’ Snoop Dogg has made a name for himself for reaching out to new artists and collaborating with them. In 2003, Snoop Dogg collaborated with newcomers 50 Cent and Chingy. Most-recently, Snoop Dogg and newcomer, Wiz Khalifa, have been working closely together.

Past the hip hop regional tensions, Snoop Dogg works with artists from all over the world. One of his more notable collaborations in the past decade came with R. Kelly. In 2006, the two came together on the hit single, “That’s That Shit.” The song rose to become one of the biggest singles in the closing months of 2006 and into 2007. Over the years, both Snoop Dogg and R. Kelly have had their ups-and-downs, collaborating with each other on Snoop’s Malice ‘n Wonderland.

Future has been rising the ranks of the Atlanta hip hop scene for some time. Last year, his “Tony Montana” single was a breakout hit, landing him a collaboration from Drake. Future’s follow-up single, “Magic,” was also a major hit and T.I. soon reached out to him for another remix. The buzz surrounding Future led L.A. Reid to sign him to Epic Records. Currently, Future is working on his solo debut album, Pluto. Much like his mixtape singles, Future’s official album singles will feature many big-name collaborations.

During an interview with XXL, Future discussed his collaborations with Snoop Dogg and R. Kelly.
