It has been almost a year since the hip hop world heard “Tony Montana” for the first time. The song was released in late May of 2011 and became one of the biggest hits. Mixtape rapper, Future, who had been releasing music on the Atlanta streets was now the voice behind one of the most-popular singles out. A year later, Future is signed to a major record label and is working on his debut album.

Recently, Future discussed his rise and his debut album with AllHipHop.com. One thing which allows the newcomer to stick out amongst other rappers is his sing-songy style. Future revealed to AllHipHop.com that his voice is not strictly auto-tune. The Atlanta rapper revealed his voice actually sounds like that and he credits this to some of his success.

Before he even had an album in the works, Future worked with Drake and T.I. Future made headlines during the fall of 2011, when he revealed he had minor issues with Drake. While disappointed in the actions of Drake, Future said he appreciated him for joining him on “Tony Montana.” Despite this, many media outlets have tried to create a beef between Future and Young Money.

Speaking on Drake, Future said they are “good” and their disagreement was “strictly business.” Future said their issues will be left for the lawyers and management to decide, while they make history. Focusing on his debut album, Future has many more big-name collaborations in the works. Pluto was already revealed to include Snoop Dogg and R. Kelly, in addition to T.I. and Drake. Other collaborations will come from Ludacris.

Overall, Future wants to maintain positive relationships with all rappers in the game. Future said he has already been in the game for two years and he would love to make it ten. Referencing the relationship with Drake, once again, Future said what happened with them was out of both rappers’ hands. Still in the early stages of his career, Future said it would look bad for him to get into it with an established artist.
