Future’s “Wait For U” becomes fastest 2022 collab to go platinum
Last month, Future released his first single in almost two years, “I Never Liked You.” This project contained 22 songs in total, with appearances from Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Drake, Tems, Kanye West, and more.
The biggest song from I Never Liked You that emerged, was “Wait For U.” This also featured Drake and Tems. This collab soon debuted at number one, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. I Never Liked You also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
Now, Wait For U has reached another impressive milestone. It has now sold over 1 million units, and is therefore, platinum in the US, according to Chart Data. Wait For U also becomes the fastest 2022 collaboration, to accomplish this. I Never Liked You is also certified gold in the US.
Future has collaborated with Drake on many records since 2011, and Wait For U went on to be another massive hit, for both of them. Tems has also since emerged as an international star, as she is one of the hottest artists out of Nigeria, in 2022, joining fellow natives such as Burna Boy and Wizkid.
