G Herbo receives three years of probation in wire fraud case
Back in 2020, G Herbo and various members of his crew were indicted, due to a wire fraud case. Therefore, they were hit with 14 charges, which included crimes such as booking trips, services, and other luxurious purchases while using stolen identities.
Furthermore, in 2023, G Herbo went on to enter a guilty plea. These included to charges of one count of wire fraud conspiracy and another count of making false statements to a federal official. Herbo lying to authorities occurred in 2021. As a result, the Chicago rapper went on to be sentenced, on Thursday.
Surprisingly, Herbo received no prison time, Instead, he was hit with three years of probation. In addition to this, he must also pay nearly $140,000 in restitution, as well as a $5,500 fine. Prosecutors initially looked into Herbo serving one year in prison, as the maximum amount was initially set at 20 years.
Last summer, G Herbo also ran into more legal issues. He was arrested for gun possession in Chicago. That came as a result of police stopping his car, and searching it. This occurred on North Wabash Avenue and East Ontario Street. As a result, he was booked for misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon in a public place. However, Herbo went on to post bond.
