Gang member with Down syndrome allegedly murdered two men
Of all the places in America, Chicago appears to have the most action. If it isn’t a man in the Bulls’ skybox with strippers, it’s a man coming close to crying in his mugshot. Speaking of mugshots, there may just be another guy striking a pose in his, while wearing an eyepatch. Or, there may be a man who is suffering from Down syndrome taking the lives of two men in separate incidents.
When people think of gang culture, they think of certain kinds of people. Truth be told, the gang culture is just like any other. People from all walks of life end up getting involved. It has less to do with what a person is going through and more to do with their circumstances and who they are. When people think of the mentally disabled, they overlook the nuances and complexities of their lives and persona.
Nicholas “Smush” Samudio is allegedly a member of the Latin Kings’ Chicago chapter. Within ten days of each other, he was accused of claiming the lives of two men. The incidents were unrelated. However, both had Samudio in common. First, he was accused of ending the life of a man in a road rage incident, on February 16. After that, he allegedly claimed the life of another man on February 26 in a possible case of mistaken identity.
As a result, Samudio was indicted last Tuesday and Friday on felony murder charges.
