Early this year, Get Out premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was immediately a hit. The movie sheds a new light on racial tensions and how black people are treated. Directed by Jordan Peele, Get Out brings humor to a serious situation.
When it comes to the top movies of 2017, Get Out definitely ranks among the top. But, as much as things change, they remain the same, unfortunately. The comedic elements of Get Out have some people categorizing the movie as a comedy.
This morning, Twitter is in uproar, because the Golden Globes may place Get Out in the comedy or musical category. Because of the topics the movie touches on, it is far from a comedy, and was never a musical. It’s whatever, though, Black Twitter is on it, today, letting their voices be heard.
