Recently, Gillie Da Kid dropped his King of Philly 2 mixtape with DJ Drama. Putting this mixtape out, Gillie Da Kid continued his run as one of Philadelphia’s hottest mixtape rappers out. With Philadelphia back in the spotlight in the hip hop world, Gillie Da Kid has been quick to remind people he was here long before them.
Philadelphia has a growing hip hop scene and plenty of newcomers. There is also a high-profile feud going on between two of Philadelphia’s more-recent stars. While they trade disses, Gillie Da Kid has stayed out of the drama and focused on putting out more good music.
Recently, Gillie Da Kid stopped by Shade 45, where he gave a freestyle that took shots at the Harlem rapper, Juelz Santana. After freestyling, Gillie Da Kid gave an interview and he spoke on his King of Philly mixtape title and Meek Mill. Gillie Da Kid also talked about his upcoming work with Will Smith.
