The summer of 2014 was a transitional one for hip hop and music in general. One thing that definitely kept people entertained, if they paid attention, was the ongoing beef between Gillie Da Kid and Soulja Boy. These two began going at it after Soulja Boy was caught with fake cash and jewelry on Instagram.
Many people began taunting Soulja Boy, who himself taunted Ace Hood for something similar, over his social media fail. Gillie Da Kid was among these people, but Soulja Boy took his jokes personally for some reason. Perhaps it had to do with both of them being rappers, but they have exchanged jokes and threats all summer long.
Things got so tense between Gillie Da Kid and Soulja Boy that the two agreed to a boxing match. Gillie Da Kid has been all over Twitter and Instagram promoting the upcoming boxing match, but Soulja Boy pulled out. This also made Gillie Da Kid laugh, as he promised he was still coming for Soulja Boy.
