Ginuwine initially was viewed as a one hit wonder. The gimmicky sound of “Pony” looked as if it would come and go. But, people overlooked Ginuwine really being a talented vocalist, and entertainer. Not only could Ginuwine sing, but he could also dance. As a result, Ginuwine had staying power.

Ginuwine dominated the 1990s, into the early 2000s. In addition, Ginuwine gave some rappers some classic hooks. Ultimately, Ginuwine saw his star fade, which happened after he and Timbaland parted ways for the final time. The 2002-2003 period was the last time Ginuwine was a viable mainstream star. However, Ginuwine made hit records until 2010. Ever since, he has been taking his show on the road. A recent performance of “Same Ol’ G” saw an older Ginuwine show off his dance moves. Twitter has had a field day with it, as fans are calling him “Quagmire,” referring to the “Family Guy” character.
